Call the score.
Picklebot keeps it.
A hands-free pickleball scorekeeper for your iPad. Say the score out loud — Picklebot tracks it, checks it, and shows it big enough to read from the baseline. No tapping, paddle stays in your hand.
Free — the website and the app cost nothing, and basic scorekeeping stays free · Add to Home Screen on iPad for full screen · Version 1.8 — now with your own custom trigger word
How it works
Three steps, then you never touch the screen during a game.
Open & start listening
Tap Start Scorekeeper, then Start Listening once. Picklebot keeps listening between rallies.
Say the call
Start with a trigger word so the next court can't steal your score: “Picklebot, zero one two” or “Picklebot, side out.”
It checks every call
A call that doesn't fit the game — a jump, a backwards score — stops and asks you, by voice, before anything changes.
Built for real courts
Everything here came from testing during actual games — noisy courts, paddles in hand, players walking away mid-game.
Always listening
One tap at the start of the game. No record button between rallies — just call the score and play.
Score checking
Picklebot tracks the real score. If a call can't be right, you get a clear warning — tracked score vs. what was said — and nothing changes until you confirm.
Full screen score
Just the score, huge — 4 · 2 · 1, who's serving, and server 1 or 2. Readable from across the court, still voice-controlled.
Your game resumes
Leave to answer a message, refresh by accident — your score, serving team, and server are right where you left them. Only New Game starts over.
Real pickleball rules
Server 1 loses the rally? Second server — not a side out. The full doubles sequence, including the 0·0·2 game start, is enforced for you.
Your own trigger word
Set any word or name in Settings — “Anita, zero one two” works just like Picklebot. Every court picks its own, so nobody steals a call.
One site, four pages
The whole Picklebot website, so everything is one tap away.
Free to use — and staying that way
The website and the app are free, and basic scorekeeping stays free — no subscription, no paid download, no account. Picklebot is supported by tips from players, local sponsors on the home and events pages, and later a one-time Pro unlock inside the app for extra features. Never ads during a game.
The plan, in order
Built one step at a time, proven on real courts before anything is added. Step 1 is done — the scorekeeper is finished and tracking games on iPad and phone. This home page is step 2.
Scorekeeper
Finished and proven in real games — tracking on iPad and phone. Voice scoring with Picklebot, Simon says, and custom trigger words, score checking, full screen, auto-resume. Now at Version 1.8.
Home page
This page — a clean home around the scorekeeper: what it is, how it works, and the support button. Free for every player, like the app itself.
Local events
The Events page here shows the design with sample listings. It goes live with real events for one local area first, kept fresh by the organizers who run them.
Sponsors
The Sponsor page here shows the spots and example rates. Real local sponsors join once there are local players visiting every week.
Scorekeeper
Try it right here — tap the rally buttons, or type a call like “Picklebot, side out.”
⚠ That call doesn't match
That score can't follow from the current one. Nothing has changed.
Answer by voice — “Picklebot, keep” or “Picklebot, use what I said” — or tap:
Rally buttons
The tap backup for noisy moments. Same rules as voice — server 1 losing a rally means second server, not a side out.
Say it — tap an example
These run the exact voice commands, so you can see how Picklebot answers before you try it out loud on court.
On your iPad, the real version listens with the microphone instead of typing — this page lets you rehearse the commands.
Your trigger word
Pick a word or name that's yours. It works alongside Picklebot and Simon says — for scores, commands, and warning answers.
Best triggers are 2+ syllables and clear — “Anita” is great. Short words like “Al” get misheard. Say it once out loud to test before a game.
Right now Picklebot listens for: Picklebot, Simon says.

The second-server rule, handled
At 0 · 4 · 1, “side out” moves you to 0 · 4 · 2 — second server, same team — and tells you why. Only a server-2 loss flips the serve. The one exception is the game start, 0 · 0 · 2, where the first team gets a single server.

Kept fresh, or it doesn't ship
An events page with last month's games on it kills trust faster than no events page. The routine is small: organizers submit their own events, and a 15-minute weekly check removes anything past. Start with one local area — local is the advantage over the big national sites.
Sponsor Picklebot
Picklebot's players are local pickleball players — the exact people a paddle shop, clinic, or court wants to reach. Sponsorship lives on the home and events pages. Never on the scorekeeper during a game.

Players: keep it free
Picklebot has no ads during games and no account to sign up for. If it saved a score argument at your court, a small tip covers the costs of keeping it online — and one $5 tip is worth more than thousands of ad views on a page a player opens once per game.
This button will link to your Ko-fi or Buy Me a Coffee page — free to set up, they handle the card payments, you never touch anyone's card details. Call it “Support,” not “Donation,” unless you're a registered charity.
How the money works, honestly
1) Support tips from players who love it. 2) Local sponsors on the home and events pages, once there are real local visitors. 3) Later, a small one-time Pro unlock. Ads come last, if ever — a pop-up mid-rally is the fastest way to get deleted from every iPad at the court.
